The Pearson BTEC HNC Diploma in Art and Design is a specialist programme of study that covers the key knowledge, understanding and practical skills required in the Art, Media and Design sectors, and develops a critical awareness of the historical, contextual and social issues relevant to Art and Design practice.
The HNC Diploma allows students to experiment with Art and Design projects. Students will work on both given and self-defined briefs, to create a portfolio of Art and Design work.
The HNC Art and Design programme allows you to study a variety of creative arts, including life drawing, painting, 2D and 3D design skills, textiles and mixed media and photography.
During the programme you will develop a substantial portfolio and also take part in an exhibition of your own work, which will all help prepare you for employment or your next step into higher education.
Higher National Certificates are internationally recognised qualifications with a proven track record of success. They are a recognised and popular route to university leading to the second year of a bachelor degree.
This enables students to get the best of both worlds: the college and the university. The first year of study will be spent at the college where learning takes place in small groups with close tutorial support and the final two years will be spent at the university.
The pathways covered include Fine Art, Graphic Design, Animation, Illustration, Fashion and Textiles, Art Photography, Product Design and Interior Design.
